Happy New Year!!!
It's that time of year where we look to the past and then to the future..... and despite ending on a bit of a low (admitted to hospital with pneumonia) - all in all, 2017 was pretty cool really!!!
I pushed myself creatively, met some lovely people and had enormous fun taking lots of portraits!! Some highlights include attending a workshop with the world renowned Russian photographer - Elena Shumilova, winning some Bronze Awards from The Guild of Professional Photographers and visiting Hungary and capturing some gorgeous photos of my friend's little girl playing with her goslings.
I was also incredibly lucky to work with some very talented ballerinas this year. I had a wonderful time trying to capture their strength, beauty and grace. In two very different settings too, one an urban shoot in Basingstoke and one in the slightly more glamorous setting of the Colline du Chateau in Nice!
As a lot of my photography is taken outside - in the great outdoors, I found myself tuning into nature more. I became even more aware of the passing of the seasons and how transient time can be!! No sooner had I planned a shoot - with daffs for example - and the best time would pass - very quickly!! I completely missed some shots with cherry blossom that I was hoping for .... one for April maybe!
This year I'm looking forward to honing my craft and capturing more beautiful portraits. I'm also very excited to start working on a personal project - a fine art photography series. I'll keep you posted...
Anyway - I shall sign off now - wishing you all the best for the New Year and leave you with some of my favourites from 2017.
